These heroes have dedicated themselves to making a difference in their communities, and Safeco Insurance is recognizing their service with a $5,000 donation to each of the nonprofit organizations they support.

Vote for your favorite

You can help one of these local heroes do even more for their community by voting for your favorite today and once every 24 hours until 10 a.m. PDT Oct. 29 when the “Vote for your favorite Safeco Community Hero” contest will end. The local hero with the most votes will win an additional $10,000 from Safeco for his or her favorite charity, and the runner-up will get $5,000.

“Before you select your favorite hero, take time to read the stories about all 15 amazing individuals,” said Brenda Mann Harrison, manager of the Community Hero Award program for Safeco Insurance.“But be prepared – you might find yourself reaching for a tissue or doing a lot of smiling. The stories are inspiring, and Safeco appreciates the independent agents who took the time to share them by nominating their local heroes.”

The 15 community individuals and nonprofits showcased in the voting event were selected from a pool of qualified applicants submitted by independent insurance agents through the Safeco Insurance^® Agent Giving Program, which is designed to recognize people and organizations that positively impact their communities through a focus on education, health and safety or civic engagement.
